Automation and control system

Based on its wide international experience, STE energy uses its own operating structures and resources to build automated systems for industrial processes.

STE energy offers a wide range of products, including:
  • process automation systems
  • simple or if necessary, redundant architecture for PCs and PLCs and distributed automated modules connected with ring, star or serial network topologies, where applicable.  The data are sent in serial and bidirectional mode through the fieldbus with different protocols (IEC 103, IEC 104, Profibus, Industrial Ethernet, Modbus, etc.) both via cable and fibre optics.
  • remote terminal units (RTUs)
  • carrier current teleprotection and telecontrol equipment (power line carriers, PLCs)
  • supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) of different manufacturers, depending on the application and geographical location
  • SCADA telecontrolled networks interfaced with software systems for optimised management and maintenance of energy producing systems
  • distributed control systems (DCS)
  • Internet telecontrol and remote management systems, satellite systems, telephone networks, carrier currents, webserver systems, etc.
  • telecommunications systems and radio relay systems
  • cathodic protection systems

These systems comply with the regulations, protocols and standards in the countries in which they are installed.

Electrical protections

Through its operating structures and resources and based on vast global activities, STE energy supplies and commissions protection, control and measurement systems by specifically offering:
  • selectivity research and control of the short circuit currents and power fluxes
  • numerical and analogue protection for medium and high voltage networks and electrical generation in general
  • network multimeters and analysers for low and medium voltage applications
  • on-site calibration of protection networks
  • perturbographs to locally and remotely monitor protection networks

The systems listed above comply with electrical regulations and standards in the countries where they are installed.

LV Boards

STE energy designs, builds, tests and commissions low voltage switchboards for different applications depending on the specific technical requirements of the context in which it will operate.
STE energy manufactures:
  • modular switchboards such as power centres for current up to 633 A and short circuit current up to 100kA/sec
  • modular motor control centres with drawable breakers (if requested) to drive, control and protect low voltage motors for current up to 4000 A

These switchboards comply with the regulations and standards of the countries where they are installed (IEC, NEMA, CSA, etc.)

MV Boards

Based on its vast international experience, STE energy uses its own operating structures and resources to build medium voltage switchboards.

STE energy designs, supplies and commissions:
  • METAL ENCLOSED standard medium voltage switchboards (6-36 KV) with rated current up to 1250 A
  • METAL CLAD standard medium voltage switchboards (6-36 KV) with rated current up to 1250 A
  • prefabricated medium voltage switchboards with modular components

All STE energy switchboards comply with the electrical regulations and standards of the countries where they are installed (IEC, NEMA, CSA, etc.)

High voltage station

STE energy's quality and experience also stand out in the building of high voltage stations as it takes care of all phases - from designing to commissioning - based on the turnkey formula.
Specifically, STE energy offers:
  1. civil engineering works and auxiliary systems for sub-stations
  2. equipment: switches, isolators, current transformers, instrument transformers, dischargers
  3. low impact SF6 compact systems
  4. sub-station control and protection systems

All these STE energy products comply with the electrical regulations and standards in the countries where they are installed.

Photovoltaic

Even in the field of PV plants, STE Energy displays the capacity of its own human resources, able to manage all of the different phases, beginning with the feasibility study, up to the turnkey construction and the FTT financing of the works executed.

Conscious of the market development and constantly in line with the innovations of this sector, STE Energy proposes technologies constantly in progress (monocrystalline or polycrystalline panel, with amorphous silicon, cadmium telluride and so on) matching productive efficiency, energy saving and environment defence.
